Overview
About Me
MAYBE accepting guests. My life is pretty busy right now.
CURRENT MISSION
To learn Swedish and travel all over Scandinavia while I'm here.
ABOUT ME
I think everyone has difficulties describing themselves. I am a university student. I am a scientist. I think I am open minded, easy going, silly and fun loving. I love being around people, but I also enjoy having some solitude to read and listen to music once in a while.
PHILOSOPHY
Don't let the bastards grind you down.
I think this phrase originally has wartime influence, but it was repeated in a Margaret Atwood book I read. I think the point of it is realizing that there are so many great people out there, so it is important not to let the few bad ones make you cynical.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted a few times, and I have couch surfed a bit in Germany and I loved it. I can teach you about both Sri Lankan culture and Canadian culture, cook traditional foods, and hopefully make you feel at home.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My experience has been amazing. I am overwhelmed by the kindness of people.
Interests
I love to read, discuss psychology and philosophy, bake, knit and paint. I like doing lots of things. Spending time outdoors.

Music, Movies, and Books
Some of my favourite books: The Handmaid's Tale, The Harry Potter Series, Walden Pond, Dune, Brave New World, Lord of the Flies,
Music: I listen to a lot of folk, some electronic music and a lot of alternative music. My tastes are very eclectic.
Movies: some of my favourite movies are Stand By Me, Leon, Once Upon a Time in America, The Lion King...but I love all kinds of movies, I have a soft spot for kungfu and Pixar as well.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I woke up to watch wild elephants bathing in the river across from my uncle's house in Kandy, Sri Lanka. The little ones would hold onto their mother's tail with their trunks.
Teach, Learn, Share
1) I can teach you how to bake pretty much anything, pies, cookies, cakes, breads, French pastries.
2) Paint! I have painted my whole life.
3) Knit. I knit my friends scarves each winter.
