About Me

Ship officer who usually does trips between Japan and W.A
When I'm not on the ship, I like travelling to other places, visiting museums checking out the local sushi joint.
I also enjoy playing the guitar when I'm not onboard, exploring new places and learning about different cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people and listen to their amazing adventures and share some of my own. I've met a few incredible people who've told me the most amazing stories ever so far. I've only recently discovered the couch-surfing concept and would love to travel and see places through a local's perspective.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all kinds of music, being an acoustic guitarist myself, I like all genres from Classic rock, Indie, folk, Soul, Reggae and depends on the moment really.
Currently I've been listening to
Fleet foxes, French for rabbits, Sufjan Stevens, iron & wine, Vancouver sleep clinic and Bill withers, James Blake, Ben Howard.

Movies: The last good movie I saw was "To kill a mocking bird", I like anything with not too much action, and more of an underlying meaning to the whole picture.

Books: Authors like Dan Brown, Jeffrey archer, George R.R Martin, Khalid Hosseini, Laura mc bride, noel harari.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Been about 100 nautical miles north of the tropical revolving storm "haiyan" ( which hit the Philippines in November'13) while sailing to Hawaii. Never seen such rough weather.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach my fellow couch-surfers how not to get sea sick! :D
I'm learning Spanish and would love to learn new languages.
I can share my experiences on the high seas, how it is to survive army school and other crazy experiences I've had in ports.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook to a fair extent. Although would love to learn more about the traditional food of the place I'm visiting, I'm always up for sharing different ideas of cuisine.
