About Me

CURRENT MISSION

i never stole a horse. maybe i will....

ABOUT ME

I'm a 28 year-old dude who has no idea what his life is going to look like in the next few years. But, fingers crossed, maybe I'll be looking at a makeshift world through a 50mm lens, sitting in a directors chair, yelling at people, pointing at stuff that needs to go where I point next, you know, this kinda thing.

I'm crazy about movies and music and I love and – sure as hell make – photographs. So prepare to have a lens in your face most of the time.

I also love running around with scissors.

I can spend hours sitting in a room with way too many empty beer bottles on the table and confuse myself and whoever's sitting in front of me with philosophies about life and everything that matters. At that moment.

But then again I absolutely enjoy going carelessly nuts or just start walking and see where it brings you.

I love to meet interesting people who have a story to tell.

PHILOSOPHY

steal as many quotes as you can

i.e. :
You can't really ever make a plan and expect it to work out perfectly.
There's only one thing that can make you happy: plan to be surprised.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

2010 I spent traveling around Australia ( quite literally, it's been almost 14000 k's) and now I'm back in Germany/Freiburgh and close to being bored to death :)

From time to time I manage to squeeze in a few trips to Canada, England, Scotland or you-name-it. But it's never enough.
Hopefully I'll be back in Oz by the end of next year.

I'm up for hosting again for I have a new apartment where you can crash on a couch or matress. I'm living with four other people, so I'd always have to ask if they're okay with someone crashing here, but usually they're cool with it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Freiburg is a lil town in the deep southwest of Germany, popular for its overall "green" feeling, mountains and old stuff.

There are most different kinds of people here. It being a student city and almost sharing borders with switzerland and france makes for a colorful mix of people in this town-not-yet-a-city.

Interests

Well I'm interested in many things. Some of them i might not even know about yet.

But to cut it short:
beer.travelling.music.fun people.

And usually, when you have all this set up the rest just happens.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Portugal. The Man, Ben Howard, Pink Floyd, Tool, Mogwai, Johnossi, Grizzly Bear, Shearwater/Okkervil River

Movies: Alien (The aesthetics of that movie are mental, considering when it was done), Se7en, Big Lebowski, whatever Tarantino has in mind, Departed, Old Men in New Cars,

Books: Everything that floats out of either Terry Pratchett's or Tom Sharpe's pen, other than that it's completely random

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

By now I have made a complete circle around Australia's coast which amazes me pretty much cuz i never planned on doing it.
But the kicker is, that we managed to travel 7500k's with a car we paid $800 in total for and everyone told us we wouldn't even make a 100k's with it.

Oh, and a drunk irish naked guy fell off the bunk-bed above me once, which led to the single most funniest thing that happened to me in Australia. If you wanna hear that story, host me ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to fix a bike or a computer, i can cook (if you like loads of cheese :D )

But then again nothing apart from the ordinary, i guess. Maybe, right now, i'm just to lazy to think about it.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Belgium, Canada, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Germany
