Overview
About Me
Hey ! I am Raphael, 23, French, born and raised in Lyon but moved to Paris to study. Partly because of bad memories of English lessons, partly because I do not know how to upgrade my "employability", I am really keen on learning new languages, especially when they sound exotic in my french ears. Of course, I only speak them badly or average, but you will find generally more than eager to broaden my horizons, especially if the discoveries involve food and drinks ! I have spent so far six months of my life in Germany, six months in Spain, six months in Italia, and would love to repeat those experiences. Currently I am spending the entire year studying Marxist economics in Buenos Aires
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Like everybody else, I like traveling, meeting new people, discover new cultures, learn new languages. If it can help me to improve my understanding of our globalized world, all the better. I was unfortunate enough to be the eldest of my brothers and sister, so I have started to satisfy my leanings very late in my (short) life, and have not been really far from home, yet. Something to be corrected soon enough !

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: all possible kinds, depends on the purpose and the mood. But, among others, Thylacine, Mozart, Synapson, Viktor Démé, Idoli, Zabranjeno Pusenje, Eugène Pottier and Pierre Degeyter, Rodrigo y Gabriela, etc.
Books: well well well, I take a lot of pleasure reading about Stock Flux Coherent Models, but I have also more relaxed readings. Modern french literature, Rabelais because it is Rabelais, Svetlana Aleksievitch, Asimov, ....
Movies: I especially liked the Last Boat, because it is far too obviously full of Northern American nationalism rhetoric, quite a pleasant look. I liked also the battle of the neretva and Battleship Potemkin, so I have no USA-bias. Generally open-minded and not judgmental.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelled during three months in Western Africa.
Teach, Learn, Share
