About Me

Hi! 안녕하세요! My name is Rap, from Manila, Philippines. Self-proclaimed photographer hahaha :) I do photography as my hobby and I do love to eat and post it on Instagram (#foodporn). I have interest mostly in Asian Culture - food, travel, people. Kpop, korean drama, hallyu is something I love. I always do solo travel because I can maximize my own time and I know exactly what I want to do.

I also love to meet new people and friends from around the world. I respect everyone. I don't smoke nor take alcoholic drinks. A glass will probably enough. Just only 1 bottle or glass. Hahaha. I have low tolerance with spicy foods. I can try a little bit of spicy foods but I dont think I can eat it all. I love sight-seeing, walking, strolling to some touristy spots. I love nature, landscapes and beautiful sceneries.

I sometimes consider myself an introvert 🤣 I don't know but there are times that I want to be alone and do things on my own. But it doesn't mean I have no interest with other people. Of course I do love to meet new friends and get to know as much as we could until we become comfortable with each other.

My Travel Timeline:

JAN 2020 - Solo East Asia Travel to Seoul, Tokyo and Taipei before pandemic starts

Dec 2018 - 15 day solo travel to Seoul, Busan, and Jeju Island

March 2018 - 15 day solo travel to Seoul and Busan, South Korea

Dec 2016 - Just joined Couchsurfing.
- visited Bangkok, Thailand

August 2015 - First time to travel out of my country. First time to travel solo in Seoul, South Korea.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A friend of mine introduced CS to me. Though I heard of it long time ago, I did not bother myself to sign-up an account (because I haven't started going out of the country that time) Later on, I was able to travel by myself, and still no CS account. So on my 2nd my second out-of-the-country travel, I started to join CS. Therefore, looking forward for those opportunities to have a travel buddy! haha:)

My first CS was to meet Thai friends. They did their part to tour me around. I thanked them for the experience.

Second, I got a Korean hosted me last March 2018. I stayed there on his place in Gangnam for a week. He also visits Manila quite often, so we still meet if my schedule permits. We still communicate with each other via Social Media.

What I love about CS is to meet new people - turning them from being 'strangers' to become my 'friends'. The longer we can keep our friendship, the better.

Interests

I am very much fascinated with Kpop, Jpop, asian drama series and asian movies. I love to take photos of nature, landscapes and other touristy places. I am an easygoing person who loves to share stories over coffee, lunch or dinner. I want to experience what people in their local country usually do. Btw, i dont know how to swim, so beaches are less priority 🤣. I dont usually engage myself into sports bec I tend to get asthma after. What I usually do during free time is to go shopping, download and watch asian dramas on Netflix, listen to kpop, do photography and sleep. 🤣🤣.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got the chance to travel solo and to explore Seoul, South Korea last 2015 without any hesitations and fear. Probably because I have that feeling of belongingness in the city and my heart really loves Korea :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I took short basic Korean Language course in one of the top universities in the Philippines and currently doing self study as well. What I love to learn in the future, if time allows me, is to study Japanese and Thai language.

If someone is also interested in our local language here in the Philippines - Tagalog, then I am also willing to share my knowledge and help someone to learn it :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I dont have a place for myself as I live with my parents, so I can only offer my availability to do meetups if my time permits. We can go somewhere to eat and have coffee conversations. I can join you tour the city and recommend places.

Countries I’ve Visited

Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand
