Hi! I`m Raquel, don`t know whether to define myself as a Brazilian - rather than in a very political sense - as every corner I´ve been to in this amazing world has taken up a little area of my heart.

Absolutely fascinated by the diversity of human kind in every sense and therefore passionate about travelling and meeting new people, cultures and backgrounds. Open for the discovery and personal growth that every experience and encounter can provide :)

Engaged in preserving the gift of Earth, the ultimate `couch` that allow us all to thrive and connect through our different cultures. Have thus been increasingly applying sustainability and harmony principles through veganism, currently on the road to essentialism/minimalism.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Though my actual residence condition doesn`t yet allow me for hosting, the community has been teaching me each time the value of generosity and finding ways of retributing and paying it foward! :)

The CS is for me far beyond a budget resource - it is a paradox, as the experiences and exchange I`ve gathered from it no stay in a hostel could replace.

Music, Movies, and Books

Rather eclectic and open-minded. Music highly depends on my mood, but I´d say old rock, Piaf, new age and German Schlage are some stuff that I can listen to at any time; bossa Nova if homesick or nostalgic (I said eclectic, shut up ). Same applies to movies and books. If I had to name it, Forest Gump and The little Prince, respectively, are the ones I can`t get enough (cheesy maintream clichès, I know... but they are so for a reason :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Replaced the word `dreams` with `plans`.
Learned to take responsability for whatever comes into my experience, the power of letting be and letting go. Still in the process, though..
