About Me
Hi everyone!
My name is Raquel, I'm 31 and I come from Spain. Like everyone in this website, I love traveling, meeting new people and cultures. I spent last year traveling and working as a volunteer in different countries in Europe, especially in hostels and in a flea market.
Currently, I live and work in Reykjavik, Iceland.
I'm very open-minded, flexible and I easily adapt to places, people, situations... You won't see my in luxury hotels or fancy restaurants. I prefer staying in hostels or places where I can meet people, trying local food or activities, keeping it low cost.
I love wandering around the cities I visit. I usually get a map and get lost in the streets, just observing and getting to feel the atmosphere of the places. Since I'm not a huge fan of crowds, I try to search to alternative things to see and do. You'd be surprised of the hidden gems you can find!
I enjoy visiting cities but also hiking and discovering beautiful landscapes.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I would love to meet local people, make new friends and do plans together!
Interests
Besides traveling, I love dancing (I've done bellydance, tribal fusion, capoeira and funky / hip hop). I couldn't live without music and you will often see me behind the pages of my Kindle.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a wide range of tastes in what relates to music, movies and books, but overall...
Regarding music, my favorite genre is metal (many types such as atmospheric black metal, folk metal, melodic death metal... and so on). I also like listening to electronic and commercial music. You know, the hits of the moment and this kind of stuff. Ah! And music from movies or games (what I usually call "epic music").
About movies, I'm more into watching TV series (thank you, Netflix!). My very favorite are Black Mirror, Stranger Things, How I Met Your Mother, and Criminal Minds. Completely different between them, but still, good ones in my opinion!
Regarding books, I like reading fantasy ones (I'm a huge Harry Potter fan), biographies or novels based on real stories (like Anne Frank's diary) or also books about teology or cultures.
