About Me
WARNING!!!
I might not be able to check my CS account regularly enough to accept couchrequests due to my studies. I might be at sea, doing a course in another city/town, visiting friends and family in other cities/towns etc. If you can't get a reply out of me, holla me in Facebook to check your request, you can find me in facebook by the name Rasmus Laaser.
ANOTHER WARNING!!!
If you are traveling in a group, I don't, I think no-one does, like that you have a group of let's say 5 persons and only one of you speaks one of the languages I speak. I'm not saying there's something wrong with it, it's just reaaally uncomfortable for me. Even though I'm pretty good in body language, a story about basically anything specifically is still out of question.
ABOUT ME
I'm a good lad. I'm not really the silent type even though I might first seem that way. I get along with all kinds of people, and I do mean all kinds(except for the racist, conservatist, judging-me-for-not-believing-in-a-higher-power kind of people). I'm outgoing, a heavy drinker if the occasion so requires, I prefer staying home though, rather than hanging in bars or clubs, if the weather allows I enjoy staying out all day and night.
PHILOSOPHY
I live my life to live a better life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I couchsurf, I show people around, I hang out. I'd host if someone ended up getting to Kotka.
I used to hang out at a host in Helsinki a lot and spend time showing her couchsurfers the city and it's beauties. I can still do it if I'm in Helsinki, Kuopio, Jyväskylä & Turku, I know a few cities in Finland really well and what goes on in them.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted many people in my previous appartments, not related to CouchSurfing. I also went for an InterRail in July 2012 with my girlfriend and a strange friend of ours, for the whole 3 week trip, we spent 3 nights in trains, 1 in a hostel and the rest of them surfing on couches.
Interests
I live a life of a sailor, I'm never home for too long. When I'm home, I like to spend my time, apart from hanging with friends, playing videogames, toking, or just doing random improvements on the house. Recently I started doing acroyoga with my girlfriend. I occasionally do some DJing, so listening to music could be a hobby of some sort.

Music, Movies, and Books
Best book I read last summer was Cloud Atlas. I'm not really the type to read books, even though I try. I have a quite large collection of comic books, you know, the adult kind(not talking about pornography here).
Movies? Yes. I love going to cinemas, with friends or by myself, doesn't matter. I always have something to recommend. Genre doesn't matter, but I'm not a big fan of romantic movies.
As for music, I'm an omnivore. I don't play any instruments or sing, but ever since I had my first walkman, I've listened to a lot of music. I dislike most of the stuff on the radio. I've been using bandcamp.com on a regular basis for a good 10 years now.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent 8 weeks onboard a sailing boat with no privacy whatsoever.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a problem solver by mindset. A jack-of-all-trades, a master-at-none. I can teach you to solve your problems too. By profession, I could teach you navigation of ships but I prefer to have my freetime.
What I Can Share with Hosts
If I have a computer with me, I've a lot of music. I try to bring something finnish for hosts. And since I'm finnish, I'm pretty good at sharing silence.
