Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Live in Ireland with the love of my life, Shea. Beyond that - travel, cook new things, & meet big-hearted people. :D
ABOUT ME
My favorite things to say are, "Good morning," "Thank you," and "I love you."
Oh, and "Rawr." Rawr.
I love Scrabble (or in iPhone world, Words with Friends), Chess, Cranium, & any other crude devices that amuse the intellect without fatiguing it. Coupled with an indefatigable devotion to reading & outdoor exploring, I like to be busy. :D
PHILOSOPHY
"Love all, trust a few. Do wrong to none."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm still a neophyte, though I'd love to build up to actively hosting surfers on a regular basis (most likely when I'm more settled myself). In the meantime, I like meeting new people for coffee (or tea, or chai, or smoothies) - it's a start.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
The previous house I lived in while I lived in Seattle was a hosting house. We would regularly have people staying with us (11 people, once), & I met new friends from all over. It was great! Since then, the Starship Submarine has disbanded, sadly, but I have left feeling inspired and thankful.

Music, Movies, and Books
I can read anything by Anne Michaels (Fugitive Pieces, The Winter Vault; The Weight of Oranges..) many times over. Also, any articles from Dr. John Gottman, Tim Wise, Dan Savage, or Dr. Marty Klein. Arthur Conan Doyle is thrilling me at the moment.
Music-wise, I'm listening to Regina Spektor, Debussey, James Taylor, Rodrigo y Gabriela, & Jose Gonzales. Also, I'm a fan of jazz music in the morning, should you be staying with us. ;)
Movies? V for Vendetta is a current favorite.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I remember watching the process of making chocolate at the Theo Chocolate factory in Seattle. 'Citing. Then there was conquering a stellar 5.10 climb after 4 previously failed attempts. Hard.
Also, learning FACS (Facial Action Coding System) at my previous job has proven invaluable.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would enjoy teaching somebody to draw, bake bread, or write poetry. Conversely, I would love to learn to play the cello! Aside from that, I feel a great exchange between people is a learning experience in itself - most people are just rich with the knowledge of their experiences, if you ask. :)
