Hey! I’m Rasmus — a 25-year-old journalist from Denmark, born with an insatiable curiosity for people, places, and the forces that shape the world we live in.

From November 1st, I’m setting out on a journalistic journey across Europe — traveling only by hitchhiking and couchsurfing — to explore what connects us as Europeans in a time when so much seems to divide us. My goal is to meet as many people as possible, listen to their stories, and understand life from different corners of our shared continent.

I’d describe myself as open-minded, easygoing, and genuinely curious. I love good conversations, spontaneous adventures, and spending time with people who see the world differently than I do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing to meet people in the most genuine and personal way possible. I believe this way of traveling lets me connect with a wide range of people across Europe as I try to understand what brings us together — and what sets us apart — as Europeans.

I’m not just looking for a bed to sleep in. I want to be shown around, to get to know you, to hear your stories — and share mine. To be introduced to the people and places that truly shape everyday life where you live.

This project is fully self-funded for now, so of course the financial part matters — but honestly, the human connection means far more to me than anything a five-star hotel could ever offer.

I once shouted myself into a collapsed lung when Liverpool won the Premier League — got misdiagnosed by a doctor, used artificial intelligence to correctly diagnose myself, got hospitalized, wrote about it, and ended up sparking a national debate about AI in healthcare… then ran a marathon four months later.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I make a living by meeting people. I’ve interviewed everyone from ministers and CEOs to the most vulnerable in society — those who’ve lost and those who’ve won. I follow world news closely and love a good, thoughtful conversation about the times we live in. So, I can guarantee good stories and even better talks ;)

I also love being in the kitchen, enjoying good wine and craft beer — and I’m always happy to bring a bit of that spirit along when I visit.
