About Me
Hello!
I'm Rathin and I graduated from my University last year. I'm working in a Finance firm right now, apart from running my startup.
I love to travel and have visited various countries before either for holidaying or as a part of a conference. Apart from travel, I also like to do quite a lot of things which I've mentioned below.
Things that excite me include music (I play an instrument and also do acapella), football and books apart from travel and startups.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe travel is the best school one can get. It teaches you a variety of things. And an important part of it is sharing knowledge, experiences and culture with the people who reside in that particular country.
And what better way than Couchsurfing to meet and stay with the perfect guides to the city!
Interests
My interests include a variety of things:
1. Playing musical instruments: I'm trained to play Tabla (an Indian classical percussion instrument). I love playing it and apart from that, I also play a form of body percussion (Acapella)
2. Football: I love playing football (soccer)
3. Books: I like reading books too (mentioned below)
4. Travel: Obviously! That's why I'm here :)
- books
- music
- budget travel
- travel
- football
- wanderlust
Music, Movies, and Books
Lots actually. Difficult to shortlist a few. But, the different genres I like with respect to these things are:
Music:
Soul, rock, instrumental, classical and anything related to percussion
Movies:
Adventure, suspense, thrillers, detective, murder mysteries, comedy, wit and humour
Books:
Adventure, suspense, thrillers, detective, murder mysteries, comedy, wit and humour
A few specific favourites:
1. The Ambler Warning by Robert Ludlum
2. The Afghan by Frederick Forsyth
3. Gone Tomorrow by Lee Child
4. The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo
5. Shall We Tell The President by Jeffrey Archer
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiked from Germany to Netherlands in a kind random stranger's car. And ended up spending the day with him. :)
Teach, Learn, Share
Exchanging those valuable pieces of information with fellow travelers and similar wanderlust people is a delight. That restaurant in an exotic country, an off-beat thing to do in a European country, that one must-visit place or the best roadtrip to take - there are a lot of things to share and learn about.
I also play body percussion (Kapila - a form of Acapella).
What I Can Share with Hosts
A lot of travel stories to begin with. Expect a whirlwind of culture and colour from India (and Indian food, if you are lucky)!
Countries I’ve Visited
Belgium, England, Germany, Malaysia, Netherlands, Scotland, Singapore, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom
