About Me

Update : I have shifted to new flat.

My name is Ratnesh and I live in New Delhi (Vinobapuri, Lajpat Nagar Market). My office is near India Gate, so you can always find time to meet me. Just before COVID I had hosted few international guests. But then I had to stop it. Now I can accept guests again.

Professionally, I am Lead Specialist - Knowledge Management working in an international organization called Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI). Before that I have done PhD from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi in the Department of Civil Engineering.

My home town is in Purnia (state of Bihar), which is in the eastern part of mainland India. I have lived in hostels since I was in class 3rd. I have lived in various cities of India.

I started international travel once again. Went Poland three times.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people and make friends. Now I can host guests (preferably international guests) as due to COVID I am unable to travel much. I live in two BHK flat so you can get your separate room. But I have full time job and some travelling for job, so please contact me. My house has minimal furniture.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books - I read almost all types of books. You should definitely try to meet if you like reading.

Music - not much into the music. I listen mostly to Indian melodies.

Movies - any good movie with great story, and direction. I like suspense movies most. A Sherlock Holmes Fan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1. In November 2022 I had an opportunity to invite a Dutch traveller to my home town to attend an Indian wedding. I met her at Delhi airport (but she is also at Couch Surfing). It was an awesome experience.

2. Cooked Indian dishes in the kitchen of my Polish Pen Pals).

3. Met my first CS friends (Ewa, Svetlana, ) in Warsaw... Found her house without Google map. Just a printed map without phone... ;)

4. Escorted my Polish pens pals to Holi in Brindaban India and many other places.

5. Met a Polish girl in the Holi in Brindaban :)

6. Hosted four travellers so far - Italy, Turkey, Iran, Switzerland.
