ABOUT ME
Here's a haiku for you!
i wake up each day
without a morning routine;
wing it until dark.
I'm a North Carolina girl at heart, but I'm learning to enjoy my unexpected relocation to the little town of Lawton, Oklahoma. I've lived in the mountains (Asheville, NC) and at the beach (Beaufort, NC) and can't commit to a preference for either.
I have experiences from a wide spectrum of lifestyles which have molded me into a worldly and humbled person. I have kept an online journal for years and have found it a valuable tool for evaluating, remembering, and sharing my thoughts. Kindness and acceptance are virtues that help all of humanity and I strive to have them.
I'm not easily offended and try not to take myself too seriously. Some of my favorite comedians are Mitch Hedberg, Bill Hicks, Louis C.K., and David Cross. Otherwise my comedic tastes include absurd things such as Tim & Eric, goofy things like Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, and geeky things like wordplay and puns. I can be cynical at times.
Life should be a fulfilling journey, and hopefully you can join me for some of it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Some day in the future I may be able to host. Currently I try to meet local CS'ers, and meet up with CS'ers in towns that I visit where I don't know anyone.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I discovered CS in the summer of '09 and was blown away by the sense of community and kind people I've met along the way.
Interests
The arts! Live music, visual and performance art, feeling like I'm going on an adventure, downtowns and the cool shops and people they attract, singing, teaching myself piano, making music with other people, weird musical instruments, national parks, nutrition and good healthy food, swimming, yoga, graffiti, tattoos, making people laugh, and so much more...

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Amelie, Children of Men, Wonder Boys, Ghost World, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
Music: My favorite artist is Regina Spektor. Otherwise, I can enjoy most music. If I don't like a genre, I figure it's because I'm not in the mood for it. I find a hard time, though, appreciating mainstream rap that spreads messages of over-consumption and violence.
Books: I find peace when I read the Tao Te Ching. I loved Walden. There are a lot of books I'd like to read but my short attention span won't let me find the time.
