About Me
"The World is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion."-Thomas Paine
Analytical; I tend to think and worry maybe more than necessary. But I'm working on learning to care without letting myself get too exhausted.
Free Spirit; people often call me a free spirit because I believe there's no reason not to go against the grain and I am playful and I like variety.
Loves Change; the only thing that always excites me is change. I am easily bored with routine, and I like to challenge my cautious nature with new experiences.
Social Butterfly on the wall; I love to be around people about 90% of the time. But until I've known someone for a few weeks I feel very shy and usually prefer to hang back in a crowd just sort of taking it all in. I hope that this shyness doesn't make it too hard for me to be a couch surfer, because I'd like to get used to being friendly around new people. But I do well with people that are assertive and talkative because I can be a patient listener! I also find that working on a game or project makes an easy icebreaker encouraging communication and comradary.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to travel inexpensively and be around people. And I like the concept of the couch surfing community. A way for people to treat strangers like friends, to share and benefit from each other without money, to increase the connection and understanding between all different places and cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books
Most music. alternative, pop, rock, jazz, old timey, french, oldies, motown, cluby dancey sort of music. Just not grateful dead and pink Floyd. Too boring. But in General I prefer any music to no music.
I like to read any kind of psychology books. Any kind of interesting studies that reveal the way people behave and why.
My favorite author is probably Daniel Handler, because he is a genius. And he uses whimsical and satirical situations to reveal the reality of life. I also enjoyed reading Jenny Lawson because she is really funny and so honest about her experience with depression. I also like reading kids non-fiction if there is a new subject that I want to learn about in a simple, fun way. I like reading anything if the author is captivating. I think I used to read more when I was young, and then want through a time of not reading as much as I wanted to. But last year I started making an effort to read more and so far its been working, though I still always have a stack of books waiting to be read.
I have a large DVD collection of my favorite movies and tv shows, which is too long to list. But here's a few: Superbad, I heart Huckabee's, the Craft, Beavis and Butthead do America, Me and You and Everyone we Know, But I'm a Cheerleader, Scotland PA.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Depends on your definition of amazing.
Some amazing things I've seen are: beautiful places while traveling, majestic landscapes and elaborate cities. The vibrant detail when you look really close at a blooming flower.
I've done a lot of interesting things such as: traveled across country a few times, lived in a tent, a camper, and a van. Bought and renovated my own house. Been a figure model for drawing group. Worked at renaissance festivals. Volunteered with my local animal shelter. Helped build and act in a haunted house. Got stung by a sting ray, lol, nothing exactly amazing, but interesting.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can show old people how to use their phones, lol. no but seriously, I do get fascinated with how things work and can often figure out how to operate and fix stuff.
I am competent at a lot of things but expert at none.
It would be cool to learn new languages or skills, but mostly I just like to learn about different people and their different experiences and ways of life.
Oh, I do want to learn pole dancing, silks, trapeze and any kind of gymnastics, and any kind of dance, if you know anything about that. Or if not, I could teach you a little of what I know. Or we could learn together watching YouTube videos. I love how much information is available on YouTube. Power to the people!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Help cleaning and small home repairs. Any experience I have from owning and renovating my own house. I am good at finding things in the garbage and at the thrift store and using them to decorate and organize a home. I can also help move furniture and organize clutter. I also have landscaping and masonry experience but I don't enjoy that kind of work too much.
