About Me

I'm a very outgoing person, born and raised in a small town in India, moved to the United States 🇺🇸 long time ago for education and have been working in the US ever since. Traveled to 30 states inside the US and about 30 countries abroad. Before I knew couchsurfing, I've hosted a bunch of people who I met at hostels traveling across the world! Figured this is the right platform for such love of meeting people and making new friends. A huge foodie and love cooking multiple cuisines.

Another thing I do is, every country I travel to I try their most local food and when I come back home I cook the same food with an Indian and vegetarian twist to it. For example after coming back from Poland and Ukraine, I made Pierogi/varaeniki from scratch with carrot and beetroot along with coconut stuffing and also made the traditional potato stuffing and I love cooking! If I end up hosting/staying with you, maybe we will cook together !

During the early 2020, I sold everything I have in the United states and moved(drove) to my favorite city of North America - Montrèal in Québec province. I currently work for a company that makes full electric school busses 🚌 and ambulances 🚑 for the North American region.

Previously I worked as a Design engineer for Ford, Fiat, Maserati and Dodge Cars in Michigan, USA and I also teach and mentor refugee and orphan school kids both in mathematics and science.

I recently started doing yoga and would love to learn/do with fellow yoga enthusiasts!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting people and making friends. It immensely motivates me when I meet fellow travelers. It fuels my passion for travel and food. I also love hosting. Usually any people I meet i invite them to come stay with me when they come to Michigan. Esp I'm hoping to travel 30 countries in the next 4 years, I might as well, look for cheaper options. That way I can spend the money on seeing places and exploring food.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Growing up as a kid in India, one random day when I was little, I met this girl from Poland on yahoo messenger. We had amazing conversations. We stayed in touch for years over yahoo messenger, writing letters or later Facebook. One day I randomly decided to take a couple of trains into the small towns of Poland to go meet my virtual friend of 15 years. There she was waiting for me at the train station, waving at the only brown kid in the whole town. All my childhood flashed in front of my eyes. Later we traveled together across Poland backpacking! The best feeling I’ve ever had. Hands down.

Teach, Learn, Share

One of my favorite things to do is whenever I travel to a country, I usually find my favorite dish form their cuisine and as a respect and love for the country, I will make one Indian fusion dish on my own from scratch with their cuisine. I absolutely love it. I often host cooking potlucks with my friends from various countries. It’s amazing how different homemade food tastes from various countries! Love it

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a huge couch that pulls out to be a bit smaller than queen size bed. They have access to my kitchen, supplies, bathroom and while living and dining area. I can share my love for USA and lots of bad jokes perhaps haha I also enjoy cooking for my guests if they like home food!
