I am happily married and retired from ARMY in the rank of Col.
Settled and re employed in telecom industry.
have a house where I can accomodate two for reasonable period of time.

PHILOSOPHY

When I enter the oldest images of my memory lanes, I see a little boy sitting in snow. Everything is white around me. Thick snow flakes fall gently caressing my cheeks. There is total silence. If you ask me, I am not even paying any attention to them because I am so busy eating the snow through my wollen gloves.I am at royal peace within and with the whole world.
Couple of days later things just changed ‘ it is the second image I recall. Snow is now heaped into thick icy balls and these are being hurled at me. I find the experience most distrustful. I feel like running away somewhere to hide and cry. I do not understand anything about this world and suddenly I hate it. Thank God I have a sweet and lovely Mom .I can go back to her and I will have kisses, dry clothes and hot milk to soothen my frayed nerves.
So, in life I had hurting icy snowballs and soothing hot milk. I tried hard to avoid the first and seek the latter. With passage of time, this balancing act became increasingly difficult. ’Realties of life’ had started dawning on me.
When I grew up, Adults wanted me to be ‘reasonable’. I recall the adults have long legs, talking loudly all the time and being incomprehensible. They never made sense to me. To be sure they are helpful; they open doors for you, keep dogs away, have shining cars and ‘look’ more confident but all the same they make no sense at all. If you are wise, you will always like to get relief from the adults. But it is difficult. You will have reprieve only if you let them know that you have become reasonable.
When I look back, I must say I have been extremely lucky. I had not been attacked /devoured by a bear or a lion; neither stabbed nor was forced to drink an unhealthy potion. I did not even had to take a train to oblivion. Above all, I was comforted by the thought that my quest was not singular, it had been debated and seeked by so many before me and will be treaded by many seekers after me. Debates which were indulged by Aryans, echoed in the chambers of Pharaoh, in the monastery of Buddhists ’will keep coming back at us…- very old question indeed. Today, as yesterday, they are at the core of evolution of thought and society and we will find the answer one day ……..
