Crossing off my "bucket list": a cross-United States bicycle ride. Starting in Los Angeles around Labor Day 2015 and headed to Hilton Head, SC, hopefully reaching there before Halloween 2015.

Favorite music, movies, and books? I'm not interested in dating anyone. I'm just willing to lend a couch for a night or two to "pay back" those who have done so for me in the past. I'm aware this is probably a "pre-screener" question, but, seriously, are you going to pass up a free place to stay because I count "The Stand" and "Criminal Conversation" among my favorite books?

I'm not the least bit interested in teaching you anything. There are an infinite number of sources far more skilled in any area of interest to you than I'd be. I'll be happy to give you my opinion on any subject. (Be prepared to hear something you don't like.)

Similarly, if there's something I want to learn, I'll seek it out from a source I feel is the most competent to deliver what information I need. I didn't sign up on Couchsurfing for it to act as an "information gateway."

The nature of the beast, though, is interacting with lots of different people, with lots of different backgrounds, experiences, and knowledge. I'm *always* interested in *talking* to anyone. I'm just doing it with no more expectations than to meet new and fascinating people. You should expect the same.

Got at least one spare bedroom that's always empty. I have two male Chihuahuas that will soak up all your petting.
