About Me
Hello! I'm Ray and I'm travelling from Jackson, Wyoming and trying to longboard across Europe. I spend my summers hiking, backpacking, longboarding, hunting for gemstones, and exploring this beautiful wilderness I live in. In the winter I like to downhill ski. Any chance I have to travel I'll take it; I live for the adventure of not knowing what's around the next corner.
When I'm not out exploring I like to brew beer and cider. It's one of humanities' oldest past-times and the science behind it really fascinates me. I also think cooking and eating tasty food is one of life's greatest pleasures.
Life is short and beautiful. I don't take much too seriously and live to have fun 😄
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I truly love meeting new people and getting to know somebody from a different background, culture, and perspective. I think there's nothing better than having a good conversation and learning a thing or two from somebody else's life journey.
Interests
I love to get on my longboard and put in distance. For me it's meditative and the perfect flow state, especially when dancing on the board. Summertime is all about backpacking as much as I can, getting out into the wilderness and forgetting about the rest of the world for a few days. The state I live in is full of interesting geology so I like to get out and hunt for amethyst, quartz, fossils, and petrified wood. It's like a piece of art created over the course of millions of years.

Music, Movies, and Books
Funk, psychedelic rock, lo-fi, indie, folk.
Favorite artists right now are Cotton Jones and Toro Y Moi.
My favorite book is Be Here Now by Ram Dass, it's a great guide for staying grounded. I like John Keruoac and Walt Whitmas as well. On rainy days I like to read poetry like Pablo Neruda and Charles Bukowski.
I'm not much of a movie watcher but Wes Anderson and Quentin Tarantino are always a go-to.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most incredible adventure I've had so far is when I biked solo down the Washington and Oregon coast. I had never travelled like that and there is nothing more freeing than having everything you need with you and no plans or destination.
