About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Survive and thrive in medical school! I don't have a lot of time to travel, but I can "reverse travel" by hosting couchsurfers.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in rural North Carolina and am currently a medical student at UNC Chapel Hill. I am a bit on the quiet side, but I love meeting new people from all over the world. I have no current travel plans of my own, but I'd love to host couch surfers when my schedule allows!

PHILOSOPHY

I try to avoid having any sort of grandiose "life philosophy," but I do believe in accepting all people for who they are, in being kind to others, and in trying to leave the world a little bit better off than I found it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only ever hosted other couchsurfers, though I hope someday to try sleeping on someone else's couch. I love to share my home, town, and state with other surfers, and my favorite hosting experiences are when I see someone else find something novel here in North Carolina that makes them happy.

Interests

-Hiking, running, biking
-Cooking (mostly vegetarian)
-Reading and a bit of writing
-Watching movies
-Yoga when I have time!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love so many different kinds of music, and the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area has a great live music scene!

Some of my favorite books are: Lord of the Rings, 100 Years of Solitude, Life of Pi, and Siddhartha.

Some of my favorite movies include: Children of Men, Blade Runner, The Conversation, Lost in Translation, Wall-E, Up, and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I rode a bicycle across the United States (from the Atlantic coast of North Carolina to the Pacific coast near San Diego).

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you to make yogurt...it's surprisingly easy to do! I can also show you how to take care of chickens if that's something you're interested in learning about.
