COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Two weeks in Feb '06 staying with seven diff CS'ers in Japan. Fantastic people - in Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagasaki, Osaka, Shimambarra, Kumamoto and Hammamatsu. Highlights: with Doug Beacom near Shimambarra on Kyushu. We spent a day at a school where he teaches english to kids from 9 - 14 once a week. The town is far into the mountains at the end of the road. A small farming village. We My friend yuri and I completly fell under these kids spell. Showed me the best of Japan. Six kids , two very committed teachers. beautiful.
Karaoke with Alex and Yuri Kumamoto. We stayed with Alex in his 2.5 X 2.5 meter room in an old house. He sang teen Japanese love songs with hysterical lyrics. And we met his and friends at the coolest hang out restaurant in the city. it was like staying with a generous, brilliant, off the wall cousin.
Met my friend Baz from Netherlands in India and next year slept at his place near Amsterdam for five days- next year he and his girlfriend stayed at my place in LA for a month while I was out of town. Was great getting to know his aptmates.
