About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To collect moments, not things.

ABOUT ME

I try to learn from everyone and everthing that surrounds me. Since I finished my studies, I like to travel as much as I can. I've already seen quite a bit of Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Singapore, Philipinnes, Hong Kong, ....... On my journey I came across amazing people, intruiging cultures, extraordinary animals and the most beautiful landscapes.
In the Netherlands I studied architecture and building engineering and worked as an architect for several years, although I am also really interested in philosophy. At the moment I work as a LifeSkills Trainer and help out disabled people. Just before I came to Australia I wrote a book for children and adults which got published when I was in Australia, check out: www.mijnopazeialtijd.nl

PHILOSOPHY

You are not beaten when you lose. You are only beaten when you give up.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first few days I've stayed with a host in Perth. I really enjoyed my stay there and I think it is a nice first step to getting to know a place. I hope to meet many more great hosts. Now I can host other travellers as I think it is a great way to bring the travel towards you.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books that inspired me: Life of Pi, World of Sophie, Tao of Pooh, The art of war, Yes man, Power of now, ....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last year I travelled all around Australia in my car and went diving at the Great Barrier Reef, hiking in Tasmania, crossed the Nullarbor, saw Whitsunday's and Fraser Island and even met a prince. I slept under the most beautiful skies in the outback, woke up every day to find myself at a new amazing landscape surround by amazing wildlife.

"Some travellers are at home everywhere and some travellers are at home nowhere." ....
"And I was one of those."

Teach, Learn, Share

The journey is the destination.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a considerate and reliable person who is used to clean up his own mess. My philosophy is; if a place has been good to you, you leave it even better behind than you encountered it. I even wear this philosophy when I go to the beach or so. Resulting in cleaning up the garbage of other people. :-)
