Music, Movies, and Books
Books: I will read anything you put in front of me. Recently finished 3 Palanuick novels, the Marvel Character Encyclopedia and "Why do men have nipples?"
My favorite books are "Where the Wild Things Are," "1984" and "Brave New World."
Movies: I HATE dramas and love stories. I want to be entertained for my $8. I love bad action movies and ESPECIALLY Kung Fu flicks. Seriously, Bloodsport is my favorite movie. I love anything with Jet Li as well. My film-enthusiast hubby has introduced me to a lot of new genres, so I have fallen in love with John Waters movies, "Brazil" and anything with Pam Grier. Yum!
Music: Fairly eclectic. I DJ part-time at a country music station but my favorite type of music is Drum & Bass. I like Lo-fi, trance, techno, ghetto tech, classical, rock, ambient, jungle....basically anything I can either dance to or mellow out to. I also harbour a secret Shakira obsession, which is both shameful and hilarious.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lost my swimsuit while body surfing in Qingdao, China....
I've seen places on the Yangtze that will never be seen again....curse you, 3 Gorges Dam!
Teach, Learn, Share
Never take anything too seriously. Also, I shower a lot more than my European and Chinese friends.
Seriously though, I've learned so much about culture and adaptation from living in China. I love to share that with others. If you are looking to move to or visit East Asia, I likely have some fantastic tips!
