ABOUT ME
I'm a professor of mass communication at Louisiana State University, but I don't think I fit the stereotype of a professor. I hope not anyway. :) I study what's wrong with the media, especially political media. I'm also a foodie and a photographer. I love traveling but my favorite trips are more about getting to know what ordinary life is like in a place instead of seeing a bunch of tourist stuff that the locals never do. I'm considerate and generous and I really believe most people are good. CS seems like a good way to meet people with that same philosophy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have only couch surfed once but I loved it and I really believe in the concept. I'm signing up now that I have a spare bedroom to offer. I have also hosted lots of people other ways, not through this site. Over the past three years I've hosted about a dozen visiting scholars to my university, many of them for a whole semester. I've formed some very close friendships with some of them, and always seem to learn about some interesting food or music that I wouldn't have encountered otherwise.
