About Me
Get experience, get a job. Learn something useful!
Hello! I'm Raymond, currently 27 years old. I finished my conscription in Sept 2014, and I'm currently working as an IT engineer in a military camp. I'm hoping to secure a placement in a local university soon though.
I love to travel. I've been on several overseas trip within the past few years, but the one trip that stuck with me was when i flew solo into California for a month, as part of my graduation trip. Thinking back, it was rather dangerous to be alone there for a month, but i had to satisfy my hunger for travels. :)
I like to meet people and chat with them. I tend to go on and on about sharing my experience, even if it might sound boring.
Like almost all Singaporeans, I'm currently staying with my parents, which means there's nowhere in my house for you to sleep in (kitchen not included). However if you're in town for a day or two, let me know and I'll bring you around if time permits! :)
I have a nice smile. :D
Respect everyone, and be kind to them too. You have no idea what kind of challenge it is to go through life in their shoes.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm more introverted than i was before, but the right people would definitely make me open up fast. I like to know more about life experiences faced by other CSers, and learn from them.
If you're coming to Singapore, I'll probably bring you around the island and eat good food. As you know, Singapore is known as a food paradise. We have a wide variety of cuisines available here. From oriental food such as dim sum and chicken rice, to western food such as pizza and fish & chips, you can find them all here! :) I'll bring you to the best outlets to have them all. Not to mention, there is the famous Singapore Chili Crab. Yum!~
Had my first CS event in Singapore, where i met quite a few nonsensical buddies in the community while wearing Pajamas.
My first experience couchsurfing was also the first time I went overseas by myself. I wouldn't say my first surfing experience was good, but it helped that my host gave me comments to improve myself. The second one was way awesome though. :D
Surfed:
- Suzanna Kim (June 2012, Los Angeles)
- Dave Nugent (June 2012, San Francisco)
- Junho Choi (December 2015, Seoul)
Hosted/Brought around:
- Tapio & Marius (March 2012, Germany)
I haven't been on CS much ever since late 2012, but I'm definitely ready for the world.

Passion for any genres of music in any languages.
I've read several, but nowadays i read once a year or so?
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Crawled in the Cuchi Tunnel in Vietnam. It's like baby crawling, but in a dark and damp tunnel.
Went solo backpacking in the states for a month when i was 20.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you several asian languages, such as Mandarin, Cantonese, Teochew, and Singapore's very own Singlish (It's our colloquial language!)
Learnt how to jump-start a car due to a sudden breakdown after a dinner.
CPR, esp if you're really good-looking. (jokes aside, i really am trained in CPR)
I'm trained in weapons. Able to disassemble a rifle in less than 45 seconds. Apart from that, i'm pretty nifty with a GPMG too.
