About Me

I am mostly a child. I am still learning how to be an adult, difficult process. I am also a grassroots activist with great passion to campaigning and advocacy. I am a postcolonial feminist (so far). I have been blogging since 8 years. Lately I am starting a diary.

I a nomad - born in the US, lived in KSA for ten years, grew up in Syria and did my first master's in Comparative Literature in Lebanon. Currently doing my second master's in Gender, Sexuality and the Body in leeds, UK.

I have co-authored two research papers with Badael on Women's Role in Peace-building in Syria, and with Orient Policy Center on Aleppo's Post-Liberation and the Christians' Question.

Pescetarian, loves animals, plants and folk music.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am an unregistered refugee. I won't be going to my home country very soon due to war, so would like to learn more about my new exile; the world. I would like to learn about the history of communities, conflicts, wars and how they got about it. I also would like to enjoy good time, beautiful people and good music.

Interests

A LOT.

Discourse. Post-colonialism. Subaltern and diaspora studies. Sexualities and the bodies.

Japanese Anime - Miyazaki is my favorite, folk music. I love 70s and 80s rock and pop music.
