So let me share a bit about me.

I’m a human being who wants to be happy.

This is why on March 2016, I have filled a big backpack with too much stuff and left for Budapest - my first destination in my RTW (round the world) trip.

I remember getting on a train and I was so scared - what if someone steals my wallet?
My passport?
What if I get sick?
Am I even doing the right thing?
OMG, what’s in my mind - why have I decided to do this?

I reached Budapest. It was amazing. Then I went to Italy. Then to Spain.

Since then, I’ve been in around twenty countries in Europe and Asia. My dream to become a famous entrepreneur never realized. Nor my dream to become a writer. Nor my dream to take amazing photos of the places I’ve visited.

But you know - traveling in places like Thailand and Vietnam and the Philippines and Taiwan (especially Taiwan), I felt free.

And happy.

And this is why, four years later - I’m still a nomad. I’m still traveling. Not because I want to see another place - but because I value freedom.

So that’s my story.

Do you want to know if you should become my friend?
(I mean - you’re not checking my profile at random, right?)

Here’s what I’m all about, what is important to me…

ONE - I love deep connections and I really, really… really hate small-talk. And I’m not answering another question of “when did you come here and how long are you going to stay?”. Seriously. Next person that asks me this will get a blank stare from my side.

TWO - I have two big hobbies - reading and exploring nature. I love reading books that help me grow as a person (business, self-improvement, communication, etc)… and I love strapping my GoPro to my backpack and going on hikes and in beautiful places.

THREE - I work from home, I’m a business consultant. This means I write scripts and ads and do copywriting and help companies make money. I’m not sure how relevant this is - apart from the fact that I’m quite flexible with my hours.

FOUR - I actually strive to maintain friendships and connections.

I don’t like “disposable friends”. What’s that you may ask?

It’s when you meet someone in a hostel or a place, you hang out and then you never meet again. I believe that to have a beautiful friendship with someone, I actually have to work for it - putting in the time with that person.

So I prefer to not really hang out with backpackers - because it’s a one time thing. I prefer locals.

If you could pick up a place to live there for the rest of your life, where would it be?
And what would your ten year old self say about you now?

Yeah - this is what you can expect. It may be a bit too much for some… a bit too little for others - but I hope I can find people on the same page.

I’ll tell you a secret.

Every time I see someone waiting at the elevator… or maybe a clerk at 7/11… or someone waiting in line - I want to go and say hi.

And ask - how was your day so far?

What made you happy so far?

But I’m not that courageous…
… so instead, I use Couchsurfing to meet people.

That’s what I want it for.

To meet wonderful people, discover their stories and learn from them. I rarely, if ever, look for a host - instead, the best gift you could give me is your time.

Books…

Oh, they’re sooooo many.

I mean, I love books.

You know what’s my latest favorite series? It’s a bit silly but I’ll tell you about it.

It’s a series called ExFor and there’s this asshole AI (artificial intelligence) called Skippy who helps human save their planet. And it’s funny and interesting and just joyful.

Another good book I’ve read recently is Non Violent Communication and it is about how to talk with others in a way that you don’t criticize them or put them on the defensive.

If I’ve found this book ten years ago, my life would have been so different.

Music…

Right now I’m doing a Linkin Park marathon and also listening a lot to Mike Shinoba. But yeah, I’m open to most things.

So I’ll share where I’ve been… what I’ve learned from this… and simply - have a interesting conversation with you.

I know it’s not as tangible as “I can teach you to speak Mandarin” or “I can teach you to cook” but I guess that’s me.
