ABOUT ME

I am a young, energetic and a friendly guy who loves to travel and have a good time. I was born in Lugansk, Ukraine and grew up in Kathmandu, Nepal and spent my youth in Houston, USA. I heard about CS from a website and instantly got attracted to the idea of being able to travel the world and make new friends.

I currently live in Pyeongtaek, South Korea.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life to discover new things. I believe that life is good only when we get our hands dirty with it. I believe in engaging myself with others and new experiences because growth and change is possible only when we step into the unknown.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to host others when they travel to my city. I will start travelling more often to places I have never been and I hope CS will be a valuable tool for me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experience was in March 2009, I invited my Russian friends to stay at my place couple of times in Kathmandu,Nepal. Also, I hosted someone from South Korea and we ended up having a good time too!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy movies. I am a big fan of action movies like the Bourne series, James Bond or anything involving spies. My favorite actors include Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Johnny Depp, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Brad Pitt, Daniel Craig, Ryan Gosling, Anthony Hopkins and Robert Redford. The conversation would be incomplete without the sexy actresses who capture my imagination. I love Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lawrence, Scarlett Johansson, and Sophie Marceau.

Who doesn't like music? I listen to contemporary artists a lot. I enjoy listening to Coldplay, Lana Del Rey, M83, Killswitch Engage, Angus and Julia Stone and many more. Some of the older stuff I used to listen revolved around Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Scorpions, GNR, Nirvana, Michael Jackson etc.

I am not an avid reader but sometimes I find myself spending time with a book. I have read a few books by Malcolm Gladwell, he always puts a different spin on familiar topics. Some other titles I've enjoyed are Siddartha, Ten Poems to Say Goodbye, Flow, The Art of Creating etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am a huge fan of underground Instrumental Rock Guitar scene. I attended a concert of three great guitar legends Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen called G3 Tour in New York. After the show I met with all the artists and also met John Petrucci of Dream Theater. It was a great night in my life !

Teach, Learn, Share

I think travelling is extremely valuable. It takes us away from familiar surroundings and people and expands our perspective. It makes us aware of things, places and people we did not know existed. I think that is true enrichment.
