About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'd like to see as much of the country as I can, on my bike, as cheaply as possible, before I graduate and responsiblites/reality start piling up.

ABOUT ME

I like bikes and I like adventure. I like rediscovering that the world is continuous and traversable and that given enough time and thick enough soles you can walk out your door, continue straight along, and theoretically arrive back where you started.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm a newbie at this point. In all my previous adventures I've either camped off the side of the road or stayed in hostels.

Interests

Unsupported bike touring: Ride till you're tired, then tramp off the road and pitch your tent.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Rode my bike from Boston to Ithaca, NY, unsupported. Carried all my food, a tent, and a sleeping bag. Rode about eighty miles a day, then would search for a spot to camp in the woods.

A revelation for me: Getting home and looking at a globe. Why, I traveled a couple centimeters! That's a small fraction of the globe, but it's not insignificant! Multiply that by, say, several thousand, and given enough time I can go anywhere! The world is big, but it's not that big.
