Overview
About Me
I spent 2017 and 2018 doing my own version of "the nomadic thing", jumping around to different places and jobs and living the Van Life for about half the time. I miss that lifestyle, but now I'm getting my engineering career started at my dream job, so the amount of time I spend in Interesting Places is a little less, but I'm still trying to live this new stage of life to the fullest.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am looking for community and connection. I love meeting people even more than I love traveling.
Interests
Always down to explore nature or experience local culture. The best way to experience a place is to live there, but unfortunately I can't do that everywhere!
I've been a diver since 2011, and a saxophonist since 2004. I've been on a bit of a hiatus from music, but I'm finally picking my horn back up.
I learned to work with precious metals in 2017, and I learned to work with glass in 2018. I'm really into small-scale sculpture, and these mediums are great for it, they just require a lot of specialized equipment! I hope to be able to nurture these hobbies more soon.

Music, Movies, and Books
Songs that give me chills: Bottom of the River [Delta Rae], Numb and Getting Colder [Flume], Song for my Father [Horace Silver]
Books I got lost in: Good Omens [Terry Pratchett/Neil Gaiman], 1984 [George Orwell], the Weather Experiment [Peter Moore]
Movies are a lot harder to choose. I prefer live plays/musicals anyway.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived on a ship in the South Pacific for five weeks in 2017 (https://stanford.sea.edu/expeditions/2017)
Teach, Learn, Share
Ask me about Giant Bluefin Tuna and prepare yourself for an hour-long conservation conversation.
