About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To discover Japan
ABOUT ME
Kirsten and I are both university graduates who don't know where we're going next! I even had to get a Masters before I realized I knew nothing. : )
We have traveled around Japan and are now living in Nagoya getting the urban Japanese experience and teaching preschool and corporate English.
Before uprooting ourselves we were living in Toronto, Canada, a city of about 2 million people. We'd tried our best to be cosmopolitan hippies, becoming members of the local (and only one in Toronto!) food cooperative, and then going to the symphony...on cheap nights. We try to live 'greenly' and volunteer for our local Green party during election time. Of course our plane tickets to Japan increased our carbon footprint by about a bazillion...but we tried to balance that out by being WWOOFers - willing workers on organic farms in Japan for the first few months that we were here. We're not sure if the two equal each other, but at least we're trying eh?
PHILOSOPHY
I try to enjoy myself as much as possible without interfering with the enjoyment of this world by others around me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I started couch surfing in November, and have had met the Nagoya couch surfing group a couple of times. I enjoy the opportunity to meet new and international people through this organization!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have only had one official couch surfing experience so far and it was great! Our host went beyond the call of duty and we have made a friend in the process :)
