About Me

CURRENT MISSION
2015 - explore Europe in 18 months time, while working for a tech company in Switzerland!

2013 - be a ski bum for a winter, a 49ers fan for a season and a hippie for a year!

ABOUT ME

Travelling, for me, is the richest experience one can have! And I do as much as I can, no matter where to, but my goal is to, at least, visit one different place per year (yes, I work wayyy too much! Not enough holidays to do all I wanted).

Besides that, I could say that I am “walking contradiction, since I enjoy, with the same intensity, being by myself, contemplating something or just spacing out, as I do hanging out with friends and partying till the day breaks. Love going out, listening to live music, play pool w/ a beer and friends. Love staying home chilling or going to the movies- and i dont mind doing it by myself.

I think way too much, which is cool for having deep conversations about any subject. I have a very sarcastic/ironic humor and am always joking around. And I love when I bump into people that can challenge me somehow, no matter if is with a smart/philosophical comment or with a stupid joke!

I have some strict values, but know how to respect the others.I was brought up with parents from very different cultures (mom's family - Brazilian, dad's - English+Czech), I think that all these genes mixture made me become a not very conventional person, which I love! With a very liberal mind for some things, walking alongside a conservative heart. Does that even make sense?

Im very communicative, talk a lot! trying to learn how to be more pragmatic!!

I should have just said I am a Walking Contradiction!

; )

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

for know I can only offer my company for a stroll or coffee..

When I get a new place, couch available for sure! Think I learned a little late about this, but hope to surf in many “cold” couches around the world to visit the best snowboard venues!

Interests

Music (used to play classical piano and bass at a punk band a long time ago, now I'm glad I discovered my vocation as a listener!) I€œ love good old Rock n Roll and go to as many concerts as I can! looove jazz, could marry Chet and wanted to be Billie or Nina (better yet if it could be without all the trouble they were), often go a club 2 blocks away with the best Coltrane tribute band ever!

Snowboarding, Snowboarding, Snowboarding, Football (soccer), Tennis, Beach Volley and, eventually, following the NFL. But I'm into any sports and follow as many as I can.

Besides, I feel like culture and information is never enough! Very interested in people's different cultures, religions, political views... in each country's history and geography, art and, of course, its pop culture / music and literature. I can talk a lot about all these topics and love exchanging and comparing experiences on it, and for that, I can say that one of my biggest interests in life is traveling and meeting new/different people.

I love any kind of art! everything that is beautiful...

Music, Movies, and Books

Regarding movies, I am very interested in the history of WW2, so some of my fav movies are from that period: The Empire of the Sun, Swing Kids and the pop Saving Private Ryan. I'm into scy-fy movies as well... I'm a proud nerd! Also, INTO THE WILD was the last movie who really got into me.

Regarding music, it soooooo much! I have over 1000 cds.. hard to tell, but I can high-light all rock/grunge from the 90's, BEATLES BEATLES BEATLES... for the past few years, John Mayer (all the time), Amy Winehouse, Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Bowie and some Argentinean music, like Los Rodrigues e Calamaro, Vicentico e Los Fabulosos Cadilacs and Los Enanitos Verdes.

Lately been listening a lot to a South African band called "a King"

Funny thing I dont listen to a lot of brazilian music...

but its all about moods and moments... and jazz , in nights with a full moon.

Regarding books... some poems by Rimdaud, One Hundred Years of Solitude (Gabriel García Márquez), How I Became Stupid (Martin Page), Demian & Sidharta (Herman Hesse), Dom Casmurro (Machado de Assis), L'étranger (Camus), but I must say that its been a long long time since a book got into me... miss reading actually. Like reading people biographies as well...

Teach, Learn, Share

hum... Trivia? I'm an expert in random facts! ha

can try and help with some portuguese... but street portuguese, proper portuguese, not even I know to speak anymore.

Used to paint when I was younger as well, but had no talent.. can try and teach how to be a modern/vanguard/fake version of Pollock...

sooo many things I want to learn...hard to list..
