My Chinese name is 苗澍晗. But most people can't really pronounce it properly. Therefore I always kept the alias name "Reacher" for convenience.

The nomadic way of living describes me, schools were done in different places. I have wishes and desires that can be fulfilled by connecting with people and working together. Travel is part of life to me, it is no different from living daily life. My preference is cycling, from small day tours to long distance trips.

Before coming to Germany 2021 I lived in China for three years and traveled to differnet places. Worked in the optic industry a bit and then later as a communicator and translator for varies projects.

During Covid time in 2020 I co-founded a non-profit organisation 漫游青年 (Youth Go Local) with some other high school students and tried to connect individuel projects or communities from smaller places with the bigger mainstream social media content. I'm also working for hae.se for sino-germany communications.

I had first experience using couchsurfing when I cycled across Canada, and the experiences with the three hosts I had were awesome. It's not simply a place to stay, it's one of the best way to open your eyes and see the world. When hosts are open on couchsurfing to surfers they hardly know, it's one of the best kind of adventure itself.

In terms of hosting, I find it as a return for people who have helped me during my travel. I haven't really received a lot of surfers yet, due to the fact that I don't yet have a proper place to host other people. I guess if you are visiting my hometown, I can ask my parents if they are available. Maybe next year things will turn up a bit as I might get a student dorm.

Interessi

I have a wide range of interests in terms of anything that can be potentially meaningful to me is my interest. I may not have a whole lot of experience but I stay open-minded.

Generally speaking I like to have conversations with other people. I am a big fan of socratic thoughts on "truth is found in conversations rather than on paper".

For music I like to spend time writing songs, watching live performances, and discover different music scenes around the world. Currently I am also a huge fan for local folk music scene, for Chinese minority ethnic groups I collect some of their works, which can be really interesting.

For arts and history I tend to tour around museums and libraries for facts and figures.

For doing sports I prefer cycling tour and hiking, swimming wherever when it's not freezing. I can walk all day long when it comes to touring in a city.

2016
Cycled through G318(川藏线)in China from Chengdu to Lhasa when I was 15, a total of over 2000 km

2018
Across half of Canada's continent in Canada, from Victoria to Thunder Bay. Finished what Terry Fox left ahead of him, a total of 5000+km.

2019
Went across Yunnan province to collect local folk music, a decent 2000+km ride.

2021
A trip from Berlin with a "Schrottrad"(means like shitty bicycle, bought for 60 euros) in east Germany part, eventuelly reaching Prague and back to Berlin. 1400+km

2022
Berlin - Paris - Brussels - Amsterdam - Berlin (this time with a 70-euro-2nd-hand-28-inches bicycle, first time gathering firsthand experiences traveling in end of cold winter with cheap sleeping bag and tent)2600+km

Berlin - Copenhagen - Stockholm (similar situation with last time, except for traveling after summer) 1100+km

2024
Berlin - Munich - Villach - Rijeka - Split - Sarajevo - Niš - Prishtina - Podgorica - Tiranë - Skopje - Sofia - Istanbul - Burgas 4500+km

I personally own a sony alpha 6000 as a camera thing. Once took a photagrahy class in high school.
I have designed my own album cover. If you are interesting and don't know where to start I can do a quick lesson on how camera works, which most people probably do, like aperture and shutter speed.

I am big fan when it comes to social science, if you have anything related we can talk probably for a long time. Took some philosophy courses in high school and wrote some decent paper work for final project, I guess I see the world through some unique views. I love to hear about your world-view!
