About Me

I sold all my stuff in 2011 for a life on the road and I haven't looked back since. 50 states and 40 countries on 6 continents later, I see no end in sight. I collect places to call home and moments to never forget.

"We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us." -Charles Bukowski

"I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The proper function of man is to live, not to exist." -Jack London

"I promise I shall never give up, and that I'll die yelling and laughing." -Jack Kerouac

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -Mark Twain

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The only thing I love more than the places I've been are the places I have yet to go. Couchsurfing allows me to get to those places and meet some of the most amazing and inspiring people I'll ever know. This site (and the phenomenal people who uphold the principles it exists for) is a huge reason I've been able to go as far as I've gone and do as much as I've done. Whether we've yet to meet or you've already inspired me by allowing me into your home and life, thank you for being you.

I've stayed with hosts all over America, Europe, and Australia, traveled with other couchsurfers, and attended local meetups on 5 continents.

Interests

Common things like books, good shows, and travel. Less common things like playing music, writing, and weight training. Very uncommon things like absurdist philosophy, anti-theism, and anti-jokes.

I live out of my backpack and can't stand the thought of careers or buying a house, but otherwise I'm mostly normal.

Music, Movies, and Books

Kooks, Paper Kites, Right Away Great Captain.

Comedies, sci-fi, action.

Camus, Bukowski, Kerouac.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled through 10 European countries in a wheelchair after breaking 4 bones in Barcelona.

Skydiving 8 times on 3 continents.

Living out of a backpack for 12 years.

You pick.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to solve a Rubik's cube, how to juggle, how to do a handstand, how to play an acoustic guitar or a ukulele, and all sorts of other random things. I try to adopt a lifestyle of being always open, always ready to learn from any person or situation, always willing to find the excitement in anything. I'm full of ideas about life, the universe, and everything, just as you certainly are; I'm sure we can learn something from each another.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Anything that I can do to make my stay more beneficial for my host.
