About Me

I'm the co-director of ReWilder, a nonprofit seeking the strengthen our connections with Spirit, self, society and our surroundings. I'm a co-founder of The Buzz Seminar, and a founding organizer of the Wild Goose Festival. I love curating contemplative and community experiences via Asheville Relational Yoga, holding space for the extraordinary transformation that can take place at the intersection of anticipation, imagination, and radical acceptance.

I'm also an avid writer, publishing consultant, author coach, futurist, and curator of the book-reviewing community at Speakeasy. You can read my ongoing adventures at http://MikeMorrell.org

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here because sometimes when I travel, I prefer the human-to-human contact that happens when we share stories and share a slice of our lives. I enjoy the simple moments of being present with each other in this adventure we call life!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - Gurdjieff, Eastern & Western chant, Saul Williams, Cloud Cult, R.E.M., Sleeping at Last, Sufjan Stevens, Tori Amos, Joseph Arthur.

Movies - Cloud Atlas, What Dreams May Come, Donnie Darko, The Wiz, Moana, A Scanner Darkly, District 9, American Beauty.

Books - too many to list! See https://www.librarything.com/profile/zoecarnate for a catalog. I'm building a modern-day Alexandria.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I co-wrote a best-selling book! It was really enjoyable for me to delve both into the world of ideas that the book evoked, as well as help bring it into the world at our launch, connecting with our readers. Both to me are profound and humbling acts of creativity.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach - When we're hanging out, we can have a conversation about where you're at, vocationally and in life. Often, when I'm engaged in these practices of deep listening, those I'm speaking experience a shift in their understanding of what's possible, and the steps it takes to get them there.

Learn - I enjoy learning new stories, new ways of being, and new experiences. Sometimes I feel quite new at this 'being human' thing, and all of you whom I encounter are my teachers!

Share - I can share a hearty laugh, a listening ear, a quick wit, a breadth of interdisciplinary knowledge, and a host of networking contacts. Also some awesome Italian recipes.
