About Me

This is Tanvir from Bangladesh, currently in Chicago for a 3-month exchange program focused on community engagement and youth development. I work in education and love creating opportunities for young people to explore their future and build confidence.

I enjoy meaningful conversations, learning from different cultures, and sharing stories from my experiences back home. I’m easygoing, respectful, and always curious to learn something new—whether that’s about people, places, or perspectives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me, travel is not just about visiting places, it’s about connecting with people. Couchsurfing feels like the best way to experience a city through real human stories rather than just tourist spots.

During my time in the US, I want to meet locals, understand different lifestyles, and exchange ideas—especially around education, youth work, and culture. I’m also happy to share insights about Bangladesh, my work, and my journey.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I enjoy a mix—Bangla songs, soft pop, and anything with good vibes.
Movies: Real-life stories, inspiring films, and light feel-good movies.
Books: Personal development, education, and social impact-related books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I helped build a student-led career club in a rural school in Bangladesh where over 100 students explored different career paths for the first time. One student who had dropped out to work came back to school after realizing he wanted to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor. That moment reminded me why I do this work.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach about education systems in Bangladesh, youth leadership, and how we design low-cost but high-impact learning experiences for students.

I’m always eager to learn about new cultures, education practices, and how communities in different countries support young people.

I love sharing stories—about my students, my projects, and the small moments that create real impact.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share good conversations, positive energy, and a respectful presence in your home. I’m happy to cook a Bangladeshi meal if ingredients are available, or at least introduce you to our food and culture.

I can also share experiences from my work in education, community projects, and what life is like growing up and working in Bangladesh.

And of course—help around the house, keep things clean, and be a considerate guest.
