About Me
Hey there :-)
I'm Rebecca and I'm 23 years old and I grew up in a small town near to Cologne.
I really enjoyed my childhood, living with my parents in a charming little house with an old apple tree in the garden. (If you`re looking for some apple cake recipes, I nearly know all of them :-D). Unfortunately I don't have any siblings, but still, our house was always full of friends, cousins and many pets. We had dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs and fish in our garden pond. So it never got boring at home.
After school I did a voluntary social year. During this time I accompanied a disabled young woman, doing her household and writing for her at university. It was an amazing experience and I got a new friend in her.
One year later I moved to the southern part of Germany (to Ulm to be precise) to study speech therapy. I really had a great time, living for three years in a shared flat with two other students.
From October '16 'til March '17 I'm going on my first adventure to travel Australia. When I return I start working as a speech therapist in a small village at the North Sea. You're more than welcome to visit me!
What to say about my hobbies? First of all I like most activities that are carried out outdoor (like running, horse riding, hiking, cycling)
Besides I acted in an amateur theatre for five years.
Finally I really enjoy drawing pictures, cooking and baking and of course socializing with friends.
So far, that's my life until today. Let's see, what will happen next (hopefully some kangaroos will cross my way ;-)).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My boyfriend travelled to Australia and parts of Asia in 09/10 and he told me many positive stories about great couchsurfing experiences he made so far. Now that I have gratuated from uni it's time to travel the world and gain those experiences myself.
I belive every single time you host or surf with someone is an unique adventure for itself.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It's quite difficult to pick only one amazing thing I've done in my life so far.
Therefore I will tell you two. (Breaking the rules makes me look like a cool insurgent, doesn't it?)
On one hand my trip to Kenya was one of the greatest experiences in my life so far. Watching wild animals like giraffes, elephants, zebras and lions in their natural environment was just awesome. Especially I enjoyed meeting so many great african people. Their culture and lifestyle is impressive and makes you think a little different about values in life. An adorable country with many problems but amazing people and wonderful nature.
On the other hand I've finished my first half-marathon in April 2016 in Bonn, Germany. The feeling to cross the finishing line after 21km and more than 2h of running (some refer to me as a running snail) is breathtaking ... literally.
And because it was that much "fun" I ran two more half marathons in autumn of the same year in Ulm and Cologne.
Teach, Learn, Share
Basically that's quite easy:
Everything I know or can do I wanna share, everything I don't know I wanna learn.
If you're interested in art I could show you some basics in drawing or painting. I could also help if you want to know how to use your voice more efficiently (for example while singing).
Because one of my favourite ambitions ist food, I could teach you a little in cooking, baking and decorating cup cakes.
I also know some magic tricks :-D (but unfortunately a magician isn't allowed to teach his tricks :-P )
Since I'd like to learn so much, it's hard to list it all.
For example I'd really like to improve my (very low) surfing skills and it would be a pleasure to learn how to ride horses in western-style.
