About Me

Hello!!
My name is Rebecca, or Bec to most people, and I'm currently travelling Europe with my friend Jon after our life changing moment back in January of this year!
Jon's grandma is very much into spirituality and gave him a book called "Autobiography of a Yogi" and he passed that book onto me. Ever since then we have been on a journey of learning and growth which has lead us to saving up for 9 months to come over to Europe to get new experiences, meet new people and live every day in the moment!
We're very much on the same page with everything and are so lucky to have that! We're almost the same person in a way. We're both very friendly and loving (love a good hug!), adventurous and willing to try new things and will always, always help out where needed.
We both speak English, Fluent in Australian, know bits a pieces of other languages but would love to properly learn more wherever we end up.
Both love a good laugh and are two of the most down to earth and easy going people you'll ever meet - It's how we do things down south :)
Hope to spend some time getting to know you if you're reading this!
Peace & Love
Bec & Jon

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We bought a camper that we got 300 miles out of before it decided to die. So now we have a cute little car to get us from place to place and explore the most we can while we are here. All we really want is to meet beautiful spirited, like-minded people. Couchsurfing is such a wonderful website for doing just that! We Would love to learn a lot about other cultures (We've spent 3 weeks in the UK now and it's just too much like Australia) and getting back to the basic way of living in other countries. We don't want to hold ourselves up in hotels and such, we'd much rather meet any and all the characters we can in our travels and see what everyone has to share. We've never really been the kind of people to take chances on things, but that's exactly what this trip was, so we're excited to keep on doing that and seeing what adventures Couchsurfing will give us!

Also there is currently no information in the "My Home" section because we were living in a share house before that we gave up to move to Europe so don't really have a home at the moment, apart from the car.

Interests

Very interested in getting back to the basics in life, ideally would love to come across a farm where we can stay and work for accommodation and food. We've both realised that we really do enjoy nature much, much more then cities, we're both really interested in getting away from it all and making that work for us once we're done travelling, or once we've found the perfect place. In the mean time though we're interested in anything new!
Love exploring forests and national parks, camping and walking finding new places.
Definitely love a good adventure, whatever it may be.
Both of us love music, but our tastes divide and cross over all over the place.

Music, Movies, and Books

Bec - Anything I can dance like a mad man too! Especially Drum & Bass! I love Florence and the Machine too but everything else I'm sort of inbetween at the moment, happy to listen to anything anyone suggests.
Jon - Anything played with an instrument and has a good story music wise. Grew up on heavy metal (SLAYERRRR) but my tastes are always expanding - Love Jazz am starting to find the appeal in country music... Not really into movies, I find it hard to stay still for that long, but that said I could name a few I like, but there's no real theme to it. Only really recently started reading in any serious way, so of the 6 or so books I've read I'd give "Autobiography of a Yogi" the most important title.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We managed to convince the owner of the first Hostel we stayed in over here to let us do a mural on the wall, which was pretty amazing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Absolutely anything you need us to. We have nothing but time at the moment so we can share that with you!

We will help out around the place and do anything if the host needs, cook (not the best but we're always up for it), clean, guard duty, nightly patrols, gardening, arts and crafts, housework... whatever we need to do
Plenty of great stories and tales, as well as a couple of sympathetic ears to share and brighten your daily troubles with. We have a pretty unique background and perspective on life compared to most people and sometimes looking at things from a different view can be invaluable.
We can also teach you the Australian Culture and customs and Language, should you want that...
