About Me

I am a "soon-to-be" qualified lawyer in South Africa and will thereafter, be pivoting careers to begin in a start-up company. I look forward to a fresh new beginning as I believe the only real constant in our lives is change.

I am an outgoing, gregarious individual that is always willing to learn, listen and grow. I strive on being open-minded and accepting of every culture and their traditions. Coming from a country such as South Africa, I have learnt to appreciate diversity and the absolute wonders of different perspective. Traveling is such a passion of mine, and I will fully embrace every opportunity that presents itself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think the most important part of traveling is getting to know the culture of the place and the people. What better way is there to do it other than staying with locals themselves. The fact that families and people are willing to offer their home to a stranger is already a sign of their hospitality and will to meet new people. There is a certain sense of like-mindedness in that. I also want to invite others to share my home and my experiences and show then the absolute beauty of the place I live in.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to list but as far as books go I love reading crimes and mysteries: at the moment Stieg Larsson and Jo Nesbo tickle my fancy.
Music: All sorts but as far as non commercial goes, the XX and the Paperkites are not too shabby.
Movies: as cliche as it is, the 'Notebook' will always make me cry

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmmmm..... well I have always worked hard for the things I do. I have had a part time job throughout my University career to fund my need to travel. After three years of saving (as the rand is a joke at the moment), I self funded a trip around Europe for 7 weeks. It was the biggest eye-opener and the best way I could have possibly spent my money. The taste of the journey is that much sweeter when you know it has been earned.

Teach, Learn, Share

Currently I don't know what they expect us to say here haha so I will edit this at a later stage :P

I can share insight into South Africa and its complex politics, good conversation a cultural experience (traditional food) and a warm bed in my home town in South Africa. It is about half an hour from Cape Town and 20 minutes from Stellenbosch, two of the most beautiful places in the country
