About Me

I'm a perpetual foreigner who grew up in England with a more global view on life. I studied International Relations and French and I have lived in France, the U.S., Scotland and Belgium and have travelled a lot but so far relatively close to home. I'm a wannabe yogi and an always-gonna-be foodie. I'm an animal and plant lover (but not a vegetarian). This year I left my job as I realised it wasn't the path I wanted to take my life down, though a happy and easy path it was. Now I have cleared any obstacles and will be travelling for the foreseeable future, testing out different paths along the way and hopefully meeting inspiring friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing as although I am travelling alone I would still like to share my time and experiences with other people. I also prefer laughing with others than by myself!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a lover of most music but drawn-out jazz solos and heavy metal make me suffer a little. My 'favourite music' changes on a daily basis. I'm an avid reader of many genres, even the ones you shouldn't admit to. You can put me in front of most movies and I'll watch them and enjoy them but I won't be able to tell you the title or director... That is all to say that I'm easy going and easily made happy!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked with a group of amazing young people and went with them to the national Special Olympics games in Belgium.
Travel-wise, camping in the Sahara and swimming with wild dolphins in the Red Sea trump most of my other travel experiences so far.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have lots of experience working with vulnerable people, most recently young people with developmental disabilities. I am trained in teaching yoga to those with special needs and am also a certified kids yoga teacher. I am lucky to have lived interculturally for many years and love sharing this experience with others. I love to listen to and try to learn new languages. I love to take on physical challenges with a twist such as the annual 18km run combined with Champagne tasting in that region... I am also looking for ways to give back to local communities as I travel.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can only share what I have; laughter, experiences (new and old), mutual interests and hopefully friendship. If the hosts are interested in yoga I am always willing to practise with new people. When I find a new place to call home those that I have stayed with will be welcome there.
