About Me

I’m a 35 yr old nature lover just now digging my roots up to wander and explore for a while. I’ve lived in Portland, Oregon, USA for the past decade and feeling the need to venture away from the city lifestyle and immerse myself in a slower and simpler way of life. I love meeting new people from different places and expanding my perspective of myself and others and this beautiful crazy world we’re all a part of. I’m also in the process of shifting my work from a psychotherapy practice to offering more holistic, body-centered, nature-based wellness support and taking this time of discovery to connect more with what I’m passionate about to bring to others. More about me at www.theartofbalancepdx.com.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m choosing to live more nomadically this year- wandering the Hawaain islands this spring, returning to the Pacific Northwest this summer, planning on a road trip through the Southwestern States this fall, and back to Hawaii to winter. I love the idea of breaking away from money exchanging and living more on a sharing economy. It seems more connecting and community building and I want to be a part of creating a more reciprocal way of living together.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I felt called to go to Standing Rock in Nov ‘16 and support the indigenous movement to protect the water. It was an incredible, heart expanding, eye opening experience to witness people from all over the world coming together. Also very humbling as a white person and I have been on a self discovery mission ever since to detach myself from the beliefs and behaviors I’ve inherited that promote disconnection. And here I am deciding to leave the comforts of home to connect more deeply with myself and new places and people and ideas.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love guiding people through restorative yoga and meditation, especially outdoors in nature 🌺 I enjoy creating delicious, healthy plant-based food and love to share and eat with others. I also love learning how to make new dishes. I just got myself a eukelele and would love some guidance with learning how to play it, or a music buddy who’s also learning. I also love to learn more about gardening and herbs and trees and anything to do with exploring nature and learning about other cultures and environments.
