About Me

*Currently travelling in Europe and unable to host*

"There has never been a generation better informed about 'now', with so little sense of how we came to be here,"

I'm just a girl trying to gain a better understanding of the world around me through travel, meeting diverse people, and encountering as many cultures as I can... making sure to have many laughs along the way.

I'd definitely describe myself as a smiley, friendly, and always curious person. I strive to always be positive and I think being able to laugh and find humour in even the worst situations is one of the most important things in life. I try to push myself to be a more outgoing and open person largely through travel.

Current mission: To learn how to cook a traditional dish from every country I visit. Any help with this is highly appreciated!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was introduced to Couchsurfing right before I left for Europe from my cousin. She spoke so highly of it and made so many great friends that it was something I needed to try!
The main reason I'm here is to make friends and connect with as many people as I can. I'm very relaxed and if your really busy and can't spend a lot of time with me that's okay, but I definitely prefer to stay with people who are able to and enjoy spending time with their surfers :) I love the idea of a cultural exchange and, now that I've stayed with some really awesome hosts, look forward to hosting friends in Canada one day!

Interests

I enjoy a lot of things, such as learning new recipes, drawing, photography, singing loudly (and poorly), going out for brunch with friends, and hanging out on a patio with a drink in hand.

I also love to dance (anything from Latin ballroom to Scottish Ceilidh), learn new languages... I'm currently working on my Spanish, and I read whenever I get the chance.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am definitely more of a Netflix series kind of person. Some of my favourites are Altered Carbon, Black Mirror, Jane the Virgin, Happy, and House. Rue Paul's Drag Race is my guilty pleasure 😂

Books: Currently making an effort to read all of the classics. Wuthering Heights, The Hobbit, Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, and Percy Jackson. I enjoy reading non-fiction books and graphic novels, although every now and then I enjoy reading memoirs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In August 2017 I travelled down to Oregon with my dad to watch the total solar eclipse. Even though it only lasted 1.5 minutes, it was easily the coolest thing I've ever seen. If you ever get a chance to see one I'd highly recommend it!
