About Me

Hi.
My name is Rebecca.

I’m 25 years old. I moved to Vienna 4 years ago, where I’ve been living and studying ever since – and I love it!

In the quarter of a century I’m alive now, several thing have always been important to me. First of all are my friends and loved ones, without whom my life would be meaningless. You bring colour to my life, and that’s amazing!

Also, I have always loved to travel. Since my first vacation to the sea (when I was a toddler), I wanted to explore the world and see as many of the amazing places (meaning nature as well as cities) our planet has to offer as possible.

When I’m in the right mood, I am a very active & socialising person, I want to do things, and spontaneous day trips happen. Then I love music-gigs and festivals, go hiking with friends, and (especially) cook an amazing dinner together & then, after eating, play boardgames the whole night.

I’m especially creative when I’m a bit melancholic, so on these days, I like to draw (preferably somewhere outside) or make photos, or create something else. Also, it might happen that I reorganize my wardrobe or something…

At pretty much all times, I love spending time with people.
Spending time with my dear friend is a resource that gives me a lot of strength, that can cheer me up when I’m sad and that can set my mind straight, when I’m having crazy ideas or too many plans.
Meeting new people, hearing their stories, is always an adventure, and a very pleasurable one at that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing, because (as I said above) I love travelling AND meeting new people. So this kind of makes the perfect combination.

Also, I'm a student, so I really can't afford hotels.

Sadly, I can't share MY couch, because I don't own one: I love in a student dormitory, and I have my one bed - and that's that.

Interests

I can be interested in pretty much anything & therefor my interests change at times, so that's a hard one.

But constant interests are:
~ reading
~ Art (meaning visual arts, theatre & music - and experiencing Art of others, but also trying myself at it)
~ travelling (obviously)
~ Statistics (yes, I do like that)
~ cooking (preferrably with or for friends)
~ sports (mostly Yoga & Jogging - also, but of course not so often, Snowboarding, Swimming, Hiking & Sailing)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

leaving my old life behind & starting a new one in an unfamiliar city (it's a big step from Graz to Vienna, even if both are in Austria).

also, but that one is jet to come: spending one semester in Helsinki.

Teach, Learn, Share

Be honest.
To yourself. And to others. (You deserve it. And they deserve it.)

It's damn hard.
But in truth, it's the only way!
