About Me

I'm an adventurous individual who likes reading, writing, travel, and drinking coffee. I am a Christian (Lutheran) and have been my whole life. I love spending time with friends and family. I've studied abroad in New Zealand, and been to a few other countries for travel. Someday I want to study penguins in Antarctica, and eventually write some books.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One thing I think that's important when traveling is to experience the typical way of living in each place whenever possible. I enjoy meeting new people, and getting to know people as I travel is always very rewarding. I look forward to meeting more people around the world!

Interests

I think animals are really cool, and even plants sometimes. Reading and writing are a couple of my favorite ways to spend the time, or taking walks and hiking to enjoy nature. I like making artwork and though I'm not that good, I enjoy playing the piano.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like classic rock and Disney music, or movie soundtracks. I love the Lord of the Rings movies (even though they don't follow the books as closely as many people would like), chick flicks, Disney movies, or most quirky, funny films. My favorite kinds of books are adventure/fantasy or fairy tale retellings. Some of my favorite books are East, Ella Enchanted, The False Prince, The Fault in Our Stars, The Book Thief, I Am the Messenger, and the Eragon books. Too many to record here!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done... well, I came to China, though I'm the "clingy" child in my family. Living in another country is weird and different, but I'm learning a lot about myself and about life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like telling stories of strange things that happen in life, and I'm generally cheerful. I'm a very optimistic person, so I can share encouragement. :) I can cook a little and can bake (if I have the recipe in front of me, haha), and I LIKE doing the dishes. Or general cleaning.
