Présentation
À propos de moi
I'm a minimalist, I love getting rid of the things I don't need and I try to live with as little as possible. I try to live clean in most aspects of my life: i.e. no chemical body products or house cleaners and no processed foods (thats the hardest one). I also try to make less waste by utilizing reusable products. Personality wise I'm pretty laid back, I'm not easily annoyed, and I love helping people. I'm an empath so I really enjoy hanging out with people who are positive and outgoing because I tend to absorb the moods of others easily. I really like hanging out with myself and getting to know myself better, it is important to have my alone time because if I spend too much time with one person I begin to absorb their personality. I try to stay balanced in that aspect of my life.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
I'm looking to meet some like minded people. I would love to become buddies with whomever I'm hosting or whoever is hosting me, if we have a lot in common and get along of course. It would be nice to have some connections in far places for when I want to do some traveling. I once met a girl on a dating site who was using it to make friends while she traveled and now I have a place to stay if I'm ever in Alaska. I'm hoping to find something like that here.
Centres d'intérêt
I enjoy being in nature. I love to go hiking and backpacking. I'm always riding my road bike around downtown and to work in East Sac, recently I've been taking it on some longer trips (my last one was 45 miles). The bar scene is pretty cool in Sac so you might catch me at Karma Brew or Bonn Lair but I like finding new places too. I especially enjoy a night in reading or doing some yoga and meditation. I'm 420 friendly and I usually prefer a night in with friends doing that to a night out getting drinks... but it depends on my mood.
Morceaux de musique, films et livres
Music: I like most music from the 90's... particularly Nirvana, Modest Mouse, Radiohead, Beastie Boys, Gorillaz, Neutral Milk Hotel. And all this stuff... Washed Out, Toro y Moi, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Splashh, Wavves, Jaws, Alabama Shakes, Mac DeMarco, Sleigh Bells, Sleater-Kinney, Silversun Pickups, The Strokes... etc.
Movies: Some of my all time favorites... American Beauty, Donnie Darko, Melancholia, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Tomboy, Blue is the Warmest Color, Upstream Color, Office Space, Enter the Void, The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas, What's Eating Gilbert Grape. Mainly depressing movies as you can see. I also like watching documentaries about how shitty things have gotten in America: i.e. food/osesity/disease, government corruption, environmental stuff... etc. Then I try to think of ways we can fix it and remember what Aldous Huxley once said "I wanted to change the world. But I have found the only thing one can be sure of changing is oneself." I don't watch a lot of TV but it should be noted that The Office (american version) is my all time favorite show and I've watched all 9 seasons at least 5 times through.... It never gets old.
Books: Slaughterhouse Five, Cat's Cradle, Breakfast of Champions, Slapstick... (all Vonnegut). Trying to read more Ayn Rand, so far I've read The Virtue of Selfishness and a quarter of the way through The Fountainhead. I really liked 1984, Walden & Civil Disobedience by Henry Davis Thoreau, Leaves of Grass, and Common Sense & Rights of Men by Thomas Paine. I have also read a few books from the semiotext(e) series and I really enjoyed those... especially anything Tiqqun. I love to swap books with people so bring some books with you when you come over!
