About Me

New to Couchsurfing, and excited to explore! I'm a San Francisco native and avid traveller. I studied abroad in college in Bangkok, Thailand.

My father was Chinese and my mother is Caucasian (originally Danish, Icelandic, English). Growing up with exposure to very different cultures has shaped me and helped give me perspective.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Lately, life and work has gotten in the way of traveling, but I recently decided to reset and take some time off from work to travel across Europe and learn web development. I love meeting new people and learning about how they live and how they think. The best investment you can make is in yourself -- and to me, travel is an investment in yourself.

Interests

I'm a big fan of challenging yourself and constantly finding ways to self-improve.

Born and raised in the Silicon Valley in California, I'm extremely interested in technology--how technology changes societies (for better or worse), and what (if any) new technologies could help save lives or improve happiness.

I also enjoy hiking, rock climbing, and various other sports.

Music, Movies, and Books

All time favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird. I haven't read the new Harper Lee novel, because I hear it was published as a result of questionable ethical decision-making.

I read lots of non-fiction books on psychology, anthropology, business/economics. I'm interested in science fiction and fantasy.

I also enjoy high quality TV shows. I think Breaking Bad is probably the best show I've ever seen. Pretty much anything on HBO is a go for me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled to Myanmar and hiked up to the Golden Rock Pagoda by myself. It was amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a wealth of knowledge about online marketing, as my entire career has focused on it. If you run a small/large business, I can help provide tips on how to promote your business regardless of where you live via Search Engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, or social networks like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.

What I Can Share with Hosts

You are welcome to stay on my couch in San Francisco if you ever come into town! Additionally, I have an outgoing, extroverted personality. I would love to share interesting conversations about culture, politics, economics, innovation, technology, etc. Really, anything goes! I also enjoy a good whiskey drink or beer, and would be happy to share :-)
