ABOUT ME

I am a woman who started my journey 9 months ago. I got interested in different cultures during my normal travel journeys. 2 weeks here 2 weeks there. In 2011 I started to travel for 3 months in Thailand. I really adored it and I said to myself maybe you should try and travel a bit longer. My first goal: travel 6 months in Asia and after that you can go somewhere else in the world or go back home to Holland. Now I am already traveling for 9 months in Asia. I really love this part of the world. For so far I have been traveling in India, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, China, Mongolia and currently I just arrived back in Vietnam.
My goal:
In every country I visit longer than a month I want to do something back for the people as a volunteer. I volunteered in India, Vietnam and Mongolia and hope to work as a volunteer again in all the other countries I will visit. It gives me a very good feeling. I taught english, worked in orphanages and pagodas. Spend time with the Akha Hilltribe community in Thailand to get to know their culture.
If you ever need any help for a nice volunteer job abroad I can help you to visit real nice projects with people who really care for other people. Not about the money but from the heart.

PHILOSOPHY

Musica, film e libri

All kinds of music, depends on the mood I am in.
Books. At this moment I like to read travel books full of stories from other people. There is one book that made me travel to mongolia, it's called. "I can here the birds whistle" I forgot the other. But it's beautiful and it gives a really good view about Mongolia.
Movies. Comedy... I like to laugh and enjoy life.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

Stayed for one month with a hilltribe community. Going back to basic in Thailand.
Worked as the only volunteer in a small town in South-India by teaching kids english and taking care of them. In this town the people didn't met any foreigner yet, so this experience was very special. Especially because I did this alone. Back to basic, living in a house with no electricity or running water, washing your clothes in the river. People touching you because they haven't seen any one with that type of skin before.
Teaching english in Vietnam.
Helped in a state orphanage in Vietnam where you still can see the horrible effects of Agent Orange among the children.

Trekking in Nepal.
Hot air ballooning at he place where they shot the movie Avatar! Karst mountains in China.
Zip lining and Repelling in Costa Rica. Lovely
Mahout training, elephant care training in Thailand.
Sharkdiving in South Africa.
Safari's in South Africa.
Recently been to the most fascinating country Mongolia with it's typical houses called Gers, and beautiful Gobi desert.

Meeting lovely people from different cultures and sharing thoughts about how we can make this world a truly better place.

I would like to share my travel experience with you which I gain in the countries I visited. I also made a lot of friends in the countries I visited and they are eager to meet new friends from foreigner countries to improve there english and to share their culture with.
