About Me

I live to explore and experience new things. My most treasured memories are those where I was traveling. My first experience abroad was in Trujillo, Peru where I was volunteering at a school. I lived with a wonderful host family that had two daughters around my age, and from that point forward I knew I want to be generous with my own home.

Currently I am spending the year traveling around the world. I work remotely doing digital marketing and freelance writing.

I have sold almost all of my possessions with just a few boxes of keepsakes sitting in my parents' basement. I love living minimally, as I think it is our experiences and memories that we value most.

I have been backpacking through Thailand, Myanmar, and Cambodia. My next stop is Europe! I am excited to experience so many new cultures.

Most of all, I am excited to meet you! I am on Couchsurfing to meet the people that live in the places I visit. I love CS. I think it is one of the most humanistic, life-changing startups out there where there is little selfish gain, but to meet new people and form life-long connections.

Interests

I feel most alive when I am outside. I enjoy hiking and cycling and skiing most. I love all the beauties of nature from mountains to beaches to rivers. I also really enjoy crafting. I used to sell custom pillows on Etsy as a hobby. Now I my creative outlet is graphic design and writing on my blog, SoSheGoes.com.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can jump rope while on a pogo stick... I was proud of that accomplishment.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning and sharing. What I would love to learn most is other outdoor hobbies. I have wanted to start climbing. I have surfed before but it has been years. Really, anything active I always want to try! Yoga and meditation is on my list to do more of too! I also love taking new dance classes from salsa to swing to hip hop, and if you a dance unique to your region I would be so excited to learn.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very active in the tech industry. If you are thinking of building out your own website or learning computer programming, I would love to talk to you about my own experience and recommend some resources. I am not super advanced, but I would be happy to look over what you have built too. If you need help setting up a Wordpress blog or anything of that sort, I am happy to help!

I also LOVE cooking, especially southern soul food (think fried okra, barbecue, baked macaroni and cheese) . I would love to cook a meal for you that I ate during my childhood in Georgia during my stay on your couch!
