About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To create a life of travel, even with a small budget and big fears!
ABOUT ME
I'm a 24-year-old from Brisbane, Australia who in April 2014 decided that travel was what I wanted to do with my life. I'm going on a 9 month journey this year around Asia and I'm keeping track of it all on my blog: http://thenervoustraveller.wordpress.com/.
I'm going to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, Penang - Malaysia, Alleppey and Delhi - India, Beijing and Jilin - China, Boracay, Palawan and Manila - Philippines, Tokyo and Fukushima - Japan, Seoul and Busan - South Korea, Taipei and Taichung - Taiwan, and Bali - Indonesia.
I'm friendly and easy-going. I'd really love to meet some new people on this trip, so feel free to drop me a message if I'm passing through your city!
PHILOSOPHY
I think I should experience as much as I'm able, as experience is growth, and I'm wasting time by not going out to see all the different people and places I'm missing out on here!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm actually on my trip around Asia now and won't be home until late August this year. When I return home I intend to repay the favour to all the CS hosts!
Interests
My interests are really broad - I think anything is interesting when it's talked about by someone who is passionate about it.
Generally though, my interests are reading, drinking tea, socialising, cooking, gardening, movies, martial arts, comics, and astronomy.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite movie is Little Miss Sunshine. I'm a big sucker for cutesy movies like Ponyo too!
My music tastes are also broad. I'm happy to listen to almost anything, though rock is my favourite genre.
As for books, my favourite author is Garth Nix. I love fantasy stories about amazing and magical things you don't experience in real life. I also love philosophy books, particularly those by Alain de Botton.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The thing that's sticking in my mind right now is when I went to the Philippines. I was lucky enough to go out into the ocean and swim with the massive whale sharks, often so close to us that we were only a meter away.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a master at being intermediate at a lot of different things. I'm not sure what I could teach specifically, but I have a few good vegetarian recipes up my sleeve, and a couple of mean martial arts moves. I'm actually also a trained counsellor, and I've worked for nearly 6 years in the disability field.
