About Me

Hello I'm Becky Hamlyn (or Rebecca to my mother)

I'm Scottish and proud! Having recently turned 21 I've decided to come to Australia on a working holiday visa to travel, work, make friends and hopefully get a tan!

A bit about me? Music's important-completely untalented with instruments but have a good ear and feel regardless of background, culture, age or language music is a great way to bond and learn about others, I think you can tell a lot from people's taste in music.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've travelled around Europe a couple of years ago and it blew my mind, not only the landscapes, history, and food- oh the food- but the people are what make the place. I enjoy staying at hostels, a great way to meet other travellers but its the locals who know all the best places and have the greatest tips. Hence signing up to couchsurfing and air bnb!

Interests

I find amusement in the simplest of things, anything new is interesting. I spend most of my time working !

  • animals
  • festivals
  • cooking
  • news
  • movies
  • tv
  • music
  • camping

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to think I read more than I actually do- top 3 would have to be (in no particular order) The Power of Now, A Long Hard Road Out of Hell, Darren Shan Vampire Series- which yes I know is a children/teen series but that's okay :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent last Kings day in Holland and got to first hand join in with the celebrations and watch all the displays throughout Amsterdam. A sea of orange danced all around that weekend and it blew off my socks.
Also accidentally getting engaged to an indonesian man- don't know if it counts as amazing but it's a pretty good story.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always interested in how other countries/society's are working in comparison to Scotland. Intrigued to know about opinions on your countries media, laws, general day to day living- what news dominates your tv's? local issues ect

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my stories, experiences, and my cleaning skills should you ask nicely :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Netherlands

Countries I’ve Lived In
