Hi, I'm Rebecca, a music teacher living in Silicon Valley, CA. I lived in Japan for two years. Now I travel as often as I can, either during school breaks or in the summer. My interests include singing, dancing, art, languages of the world, and of course traveling.

Live with effort, perspective, and humor. Live to travel and gain new experiences. Travel is the way through which all humans can understand each other.

Each time I have Couchsurfed, whether as a surfer or a host, I have had a very positive and enriching experience. Thank you so, so much to my wonderful guests and hosts all over the world!

I have couch-surfed, either by being hosted or meeting up with CSers, in Japan, Cambodia, Vietnam, California, Utah, Singapore, Portugal, and Hong Kong. In addition to finding a place to stay, my friends and I have had great experiences using Couchsurfing to meet new people and get a local's perspective while we are traveling. It is my preferred way to travel :)

Musica, film e libri

I like many genres of music: hip-hop/r&b, pop, indie, oldies, jazz, classical, and world/folk music. As a music scholar, I have a deep appreciation for many types of music. :)

I love talking about languages, especially the languages that I study, Japanese and French. I would love to practice conversation in those languages with you, or learn some phrases in a new language. I also love talking about culture/cultural differences/how people live in different places.
